Activating Texas A&M Email (Neo) Accounts

Please note: TAMU Email on Zimbra is being discontinued in Fall 2014. Consider setting up Google Apps at Texas A&M instead.
After creating your NetID, you may be eligible for a Texas A&M Email (Neo) account located at https://email.tamu.edu/. To be eligible, you must be:
A faculty member
A currently enrolled student
A staff member whose department has an agreement with CIS to provide Neo email access
There are two email addresses associated with your Net ID username: "YourNetID@tamu.edu" and "YourNetID@neo.tamu.edu."
This email address is only a forwarding address. Messages sent to this address will be forwarded to the account of your choosing, which can be edited on the Aggie Account Gateway Email Settings page.
This email address is the actual Neo mailbox, and messages sent to this address will be delivered to and stored on Texas A&M servers.
Note: After migrating to Google Apps at Texas A&M, messages send to email@example.com will forward to firstname.lastname@example.org.
If you are a staff/faculty member and are eligible for a Neo mailbox you can activate the account by following the steps below.
1. Go to the Aggie Computing Gateway and click on the Email Settings tab.
2. Log in with your NetID and your Net ID password.
3. In the Neo account status section, select Active and will be stored on Texas A&M Email (Neo).
Note: If this option is not available to you, you are not eligible for a Neo email account.
4. Click Save.
