Computers Available During Internet Outages

Texas A&M Information Technology will repair a damaged fiber line starting December 17. Almost all buildings on main campus (east of Wellborn Road) will experience multiple, extended Internet outages during the estimated five-day repair.

If you need access to a campus computer during an outage, Texas A&M IIT will have over 800 computers available. Individual employees can visit any of the following locations without a reservation. To reserve a block of computers for your work group, please fill out a request form at oal.tamu.edu/Classroom_Request_Form.php. Include your contact information, department name and number of computers needed. (Type N/A for the fields that do not apply.)

Agriculture and Life Sciences computer lab - 72 computers - (Room 111C) 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. (M - F)

General Services Complex - 60 computers – (Rooms 203, 2201) 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. (M - F)

Horticulture computer lab - 34 computers – (Room 119X) 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. (M - F)

Student Computing Center - 556 computers – 8 a.m. - 7 p.m. (M - F)

West Campus Library - 100+ computers - 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. (M - F)

Anyone with a NetID and password can log in to the computers. Staff members will not be able to print and must bring external storage (flash drive or external hard drive) to save files. These computers can access the Internet, the Texas A&M network and critical services including Compass, Howdy, eLearning, BPP, FAMIS and SSO. Please ask your IT staff if your departmental IT services will be available from during this time.
