Viewing Email Headers

The following documentation will help you set up viewing for email headers.

Microsoft Outlook

  1. Double click on the message in Outlook so that it pops out to it's own window.
  2. Click File.
  3. Click Properties.
  4. The Internet Headers are displayed in a box near the bottom of the Properties window.

  1. Log into Gmail or Texas A&M Gmail.
  2. Open the message you'd like to view headers for.
  3. Click the down arrow next to Reply, at the top of the message pane.
  4. Select Show Original.

Mac Mail

  1. Select the message.
  2. Click View.
  3. Click Message.
  4. Click All Headers.

Outlook Web App (OWA)

  1. Double click on a message to open the message in a new window.
  2. Near the top, click on the Message Details window.
  3. The Internet Headers can be found in the bottom of the new window.

Mozilla Thunderbird

  1. Double-click the email you want to view the headers on.
  2. Click View
  3. Click Message Source.

Yahoo! Mail 

  1. Once you are logged in, click on the message you wish to view the header on. 
  2. Click on the Gear Icon on the top of the message area next to "Print." 
  3. Click View Full Header to view the full header of this message.

Pegasus Mail Clients

  1. Right click on the message
  2. Select Message Headers...  from the menu
