Changing a Current NetID Password

This document provides instructions on how to change an unexpired NetID password that you know.


1. Go to and click Password Settings [fig. 01].

2. Log in with your NetID and your NetID password [fig. 02].

3. Click the button that says Change Your NetID Password [fig. 03].

4. Enter your new NetID password in the "new password" and "conformation field" [fig. 04].

Note: Make sure that your new password meets these criteria:

  • Password must be at least eight (8) and at most thirty-two (32) characters long.

  • Password must contain at least one (1) number or special character.

  • Password must contain both upper and lower case characters.

  • Password must contain only the following characters: a-z, A-Z, 0-9, `~!#%^&*()-_=+[{]}\|:',<.>?/@$;

5. Click Submit Password to save your new password.

Note: You should be able to use your new NetID password immediately.
